We are proud to be featured in the media – and even more pleased that Forbes.cz, one of the most respected business publications, is among them. In the article “Vegetables from the closet. Czech startup takes hydroponic farms to the world,” the editors focused on our story, innovations, and the rapidly growing indoor growing market.

From idea to reality: how GreeenTech was created

Company founder Dmitrij Lipovskij never worked in traditional agriculture. However, his desire to create “something green” led to the development of the first hydroponic system, which was also presented at Expo Dubai in 2020. It was here that it was confirmed that hydroponics has enormous international potential – and that the Czechs can lead the way in this field.

Hydroponics that makes sense

Forbes highlights a key insight: success in indoor farming is not based on herbs, but on technology.
Our solution makes it possible to:

  • grow without soil, pesticides, or unnecessary water consumption,
  • have stable production throughout the year,
  • harvest local, ultra-fresh plants right where they are grown – in restaurants, hotels, offices, and schools.

This philosophy is behind the development of Urbi. farms – affordable, compact, and reliable hydroponic farms with a mobile app that reminds users when to refill water or harvest.

Success in Czechia and first foreign projects

Over the past two years, we have launched more than 30 Urbi. farms, and we want to reach 150–200 installations within two years. In addition to restaurants and companies, they are also gaining popularity in schools and kindergartens – we believe that the education sector is one of the strongest segments of the future.

However, GreeenTech is not just about small farms. Forbes also highlighted our second product line: large hydroponic farms in shipping containers with a monthly production of thousands of plants. These have proven themselves in gastronomic hubs and retail, for example.

Expansion into the world

Our current foreign projects include:

  • Hungary
  • Denmark
  • United Arab Emirates
  • Seychelles, where a large central farm with a capacity of up to 5,000 plants is being built

These steps open the door to other partners looking for a sustainable source of fresh produce that is not dependent on climate or logistics.

Technology as the future of farming

As Forbes rightly pointed out, hydroponic farms have enormous potential to transform the way we think about food production. Our mission is simple: to enable anyone to grow crops anytime, anywhere, with minimal effort and maximum efficiency.

Today, GreeenTech is part of the larger LUTech Group, whose technological know-how helps us grow faster, innovate, and move the entire indoor farming sector forward.

We are glad that they noticed us

The mention in Forbes confirms that we are heading in the right direction. At the same time, it motivates us to continue developing technologies that will enable cities, companies, and individuals to grow their own fresh vegetables ecologically, locally, and without compromise.
