In October 2024, the Sustainability Festival took place at Metropole Zličín, offering visitors a diverse program throughout the month – exhibitions, workshops, and activities focused on sustainable and healthy lifestyles as well as the future of food. And why are we mentioning this? Because it was at this festival that we officially introduced our new type of hydroponic farm – Urbi.
Visitors had the opportunity to see a fully automated and compact hydroponic farm, capable of growing up to 99 plants per month on a growing area of less than 3 m². The presentation of our farm was enriched by a hydroponics workshop for children, led by instructors from our affiliated project Semíkov.
We were thrilled by the great interest visitors showed in our farm and were happy to answer all their questions. We believe that we not only shared valuable insights about hydroponics, but also highlighted the challenges of conventional agriculture and demonstrated why hydroponics is becoming the farming method of the future.
